My journey between cultures

I am Patricia Amaral, an Intercultural Therapeutic Consultant, and my work is dedicated especially to Brazilian women living abroad who face the challenges, changes and new beginnings that are part of life between cultures.

My professional path was built across different fields that, over time, widened how I see people, choices and processes of change. I hold a degree in Psychology in Brazil, training in Intercultural Psychology, an MBA in People Management, and training in Coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming with Bernd Isert, of Metaforum International.

My first degree was in accounting, with a specialisation in Corporate Controllership, a field I worked in for many years. During that time I also lived through different migratory experiences: Canada, the United States, a return to Brazil and, currently, a new chapter in the US.

Through those comings and goings I went through career transitions — experiences that deepened my understanding of how complex the migratory context is, and of how living between cultures can transform references, relationships, the way we see ourselves and the choices we make throughout life.

Today, through Intercultural Therapeutic Consulting, I work with Brazilian women abroad on questions of identity, belonging, adaptation, autonomy, relationships and new beginnings — including the emotional aspects that can shape financial choices.

My purpose is to help Brazilian women abroad better understand the moment they are living, recognise their own resources, and make choices that are more conscious and more coherent with who they are and with the path they want to build.
